CCRKBA WELCOMES ARIZONA CITIZENS DEFENSE LEAGUE AS AFFILIATE
BELLEVUE, WA – The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is delighted to announce the Arizona Citizens Defense League is now officially a state affiliate organization. Founded in 2005, AzCDL literally “hit the ground running” 20 years ago, and that much was confirmed in 2006 when the organization received its first “Grassroots Organization of the Year” award from CCRKBA during that year’s Gun Rights Policy Conference. Over the next two decades, AzCDL has earned the award in 2010 and 2018, while individually, AzCDL Treasurer Fredrick
CCRKBA CONDEMNS MINN. SCHOOL SHOOTING, RIPS RUSH TO BLAME GUNS
BELLEVUE, WA – The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) condemns Wednesday’s cowardly attack at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis in which a killer who apparently went by two names, the result of his court filing to change his gender identity, murdered two children before taking his own life. At the same time, CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb said he is “disgusted, but not surprised” with the swiftness anti-gunners displayed by calling for gun control in a state which already has adopted gun laws
WINS AND LOSSES IN N.J. OLD TAPPAN FUMBLES ON PERMIT FEE RESOLUTION
BELLEVUE, WA – The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is celebrating the continued success of the permit-to-carry fee nullification resolution efforts in New Jersey. Along with their partners, the Committee is pleased to report that there are now six municipalities in four counties that have adopted resolutions to refund or waive the $150.00 portion of permit-to-carry fees. This project has gained strength and momentum since Englishtown passed a first-in-the-state Committee-backed resolution in June 2025. The permitting fee rebate resolution project
CCRKBA CELEBRATES PROGRESS IN NORTH CAROLINA ON PERMITLESS CARRY
BELLEVUE, WA – The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is happy to report there has been progress on drumming up support for a permitless carry veto override vote in the Tar Heel State. Last week the Committee sent letters to four key North Carolina lawmakers and urged them to support a veto override of SB 50. The legislation passed both houses earlier this year, but Democratic Governor Josh Stein vetoed the will of the people. One lawmaker we wrote
CCRKBA APPLAUDS JOLIET, ILL. MOM FOR COURAGE IN SELF-DEFENSE SHOOTING
BELLEVUE, WA – The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) is congratulating and sympathizing with a Joliet, Ill., mom who fatally shot a burglary suspect in her home while protecting herself and her infant child. “Based on what we know so far,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb, “the woman heard someone breaking into her home, so she armed herself and hid in an upstairs bedroom closet, and only opened fire when the suspect came into the bedroom. It appears to

BELLEVUE, WA – The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) is congratulating President Donald Trump for streamlining the gun permitting process for honest citizens in the District of Columbia, as part of the administration’s crackdown on crime in the nation’s capital. As reported by Fox News, part of Trump’s “Making DC Safe and Beautiful Task Force” effort has resulted in allowing D.C. residents to book next-day appointments to register their firearms with the Metropolitan Police Department, while walk-in appointments are
CCRKBA URGES N.C. LAWMAKERS TO OVERRIDE PERMITLESS CARRY VETO
BELLEVUE, WA – The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms recently sent letters to North Carolina lawmakers urging them to override Governor Josh Stein’s veto of their permitless carry bill. North Carolina SB 50 was passed in both legislative chambers and Governor Stein usurped the will of the people by vetoing it. Lawmakers who should be sympathetic to the passage of the bill either did not show up to vote, voted against the measure, or are not in favor of an
CCRKBA: VIRGINIA MURDER REMINDS US THAT SELF-DEFENSE IS SACROSANCT
BELLEVUE, WA – The horrible slaying of Virginia resident Holly Hatcher, 62—mother of rising country star Spencer Hatcher—and the subsequent fatal shooting of the suspect by her husband, Michael, is a reminder that good people everywhere should never be deprived of their right of self-defense, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said. “Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Hatcher family, and we join the nation in mourning this terrible loss,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “At the same time,
MANHATTAN TRAGEDY UNDERSCORES FAILED GUN CONTROL POLICY – CCRKBA
BELLEVUE, WA – The tragic and senseless murders of four people in a New York City office building underscores the horribly misguided gun control mindset, which disarms good people and doesn’t stop bad ones, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) stated. That the crime occurred in the middle of Manhattan’s business district—where local and state law makes it virtually impossible to legally carry a defensive firearm—is even more proof that New York’s policies are literally “dead wrong,” noted CCRKBA
CCRKBA HAILS ACTIONS OF ARMED CITIZEN TO STOP MICHIGAN ATTACK
BELLEVUE, WA – Once again, the actions of an armed private citizen were instrumental in bringing an end to a brutal Saturday knife attack in Traverse City, Michigan, reminding us of the important role privately-owned and carried firearms play in today’s society, the Citizens Committee for the Right to keep and Bear Arms said. “We are particularly impressed with the heroic actions of the armed citizen, identified on social media as Derrick Perry,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “Not only did he confront the suspect,
